Smt. Rajeswari Ramakrishnan Lions Eye Hospital, Nidadavole, was established on 27 January 1995 as a premier eye care institution committed to delivering high-quality, affordable services to underserved communities, particularly the poor and needy. The hospital was founded under the Sight First Project supported by the Lions Clubs International Foundation, with the vision of making comprehensive eye care accessible to all.

Since inception, the hospital has been affiliated with L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. This partnership ensures excellence in staff training, medical protocols, patient care systems, and advanced treatment methodologies, enabling the hospital to maintain world-class clinical standards.

Our founder chairman, Late Lion Kothapalli Ramarao, envisioned this institution as a lifelong mission rooted in social responsibility and compassion. With profound dedication, he donated 1.55 acres of premium land for the hospital and invested his experience, time, and effort into developing it into a model eye care center for future generations.

Over the past 30 years, the hospital has emerged as a pioneer in community eye health services across East and West Godavari districts. Today, it serves as a major referral hub for complex ophthalmic cases and continues to expand its impact through community outreach, high-quality surgical care, and advanced diagnostic services.

With a strong legacy of service, the hospital has successfully performed more than 1.5 lakh surgeries and provided care to over 10 lakh outpatient patients, reaffirming its commitment to restoring vision and improving quality of life for all.
